White Announces Grant for Venango Regional Airport Security, Safety
Upgrades
Harrisburg – The Venango Regional
Airport has been awarded a grant to help pay for upgrades to its security and
safety systems, state Sen. Mary Jo White (R-21) announced today.
White said
the grant is made up of state and federal funds totaling $38,000, and would
help pay for a wind indicator, closed-circuit television equipment and
communications radios.
"In my
former job, I traveled extensively and used the Venango Airport on a weekly
basis. Safety and security are the
primary concerns of both the passengers and the airport and I am pleased that
the facility can make these upgrades.”
The funds were awarded through
the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s Block Grant and Aviation
Development Program, which awards state and federal funds to support airports
across the commonwealth.
