White Announces Recycling Computer Grants for Venango, Lawrence
Counties
Harrisburg – Recycling efforts in Venango and Lawrence counties will
get a technology boost with the help of grants being announced by state
Sen. Mary Jo White (R-21).
The state Department of Environmental Protection has awarded Venango
County a $4,462 grant, and Lawrence County a grant of $4,500, White said.
White said the grants will be used to purchase computer equipment to
enhance local recycling education programs, manage recycling data and establish
uniform on-line communications between DEP and county recycling offices.
Each county will also develop its own recycling website, the senator
added.
"These funds will better enable the counties to implement their recycling
programs and share the benefits of recycling with local residents," she
said.
The grants were awarded through DEP’s Recycling Development and Implementation
Grant Program of Act 101 of 1988.
